  • When an alarm is produced, the beacon flashes, and the buzzer sounds. The buzzer is silenced by pressing the button, but the beacon light continues to flash as a reminder.  In the default mode the buzzer sounds again every 30 minutes until the condition is corrected.  When the alarm condition is over, the beacon stops flashing and everything resets automatically for the next alarm. (default mode)
  • After the buzzer has been silenced, a “snooze-alarm” feature repeats the alarming every 30 minutes until the alarm condition is corrected.  This is the default mode and can be disabled by setting jumpers inside the box.
  • Another operating mode is the tank filling mode” which alarms when a contact close is detected, but when the button is pressed, both LED and buzzer shut off.  When the contact close opens, the alarm rests so its ready for the next alarm event.

Available Add-On Options Include:

  • Float Switch Level Probe (Polypropylene or Kynar)

drum alarms

Low Level Drum Alarm

Monitor Low Liquid Levels in Drums continuously with the Drumalarm™.  Quick and easy to install – simply connect the battery and your liquid suction line and you’re ready to go!

Features:

  • Always on duty because the liquid suction tube is permanently attached to the alarm unit.
  • It can go anywhere because its battery powered. No need for power outlets.
  • Uninterruptible battery power lasts for years. Lithium battery included.
  • Loud warbling tone cuts through the loudest industrial noise.
  • Rugged. Built for rough, wet and corrosive environments.
  • Protects your pumps from debris with an intake screen.
  • Adjustable depth using a thumbscrew.
  • No metal parts to corrode.

Mounting Styles:

Various mounting styles available for any container.  The slip-on cap is the most popular as it makes transfer to new drums so easy since you don’t have to screw it in, instead, it just drops over the bung. On the other hand, threaded drum plug mounting is more secure and can seal the drum when noxious vapors are a problem.

Suction Pipe:

An attached suction pipe can’t be separated from the float switch, so the level alarm is always on duty. The rigid suction pipe ensure that your pump is always drawing liquid from below the alarm point.  At the same time, adjusting the depth to the bottom of a drum makes sure the maximum all the chemical is extracted from your drums a the float switch leaves only a couple of millimetres of residue.

Models:

  • DLA series incorporates an slip-on cap for fast drum transfers.  Includes flowmeter.
  • DLAX is the same thing but without flowmeter.
  • DLP models include a 2″ NPS threaded plug. (the fine drum thread) The ‘X’ in DLPX means no flowmeter.
  • DLB models have 2″ buttress thread. (coarse – 1.5 threads per inch) The ‘X’ in DLBX means no flowmeter.
  • DLK series has no liquid suction pipe – alarm only. Mounts in the 3/4″ NPT thread common on steel drums. Add an adapter to mount on the 2″ NPS or Buttress threaded bung.

High Level Drum Alarms

Overfill Alarms for drums lets you pump liquids into chemical drums and containers without having to check the level. When the level gets above the float switch, a loud buzzer sounds and LED flashes to let you know.

  • Transfer to a new drum is easy: no need to fiddle around with tube connections.
  • functional  – just lift the Drum Alarm out of the drum.
  • No wetted metal parts.

Mounting Style:

These liquid level alarms can be adapted to any drum. For example the mounting cap on the DHA-5 Drum Alarm makes it easy to switch to a new drum when the old one is full since you don’t have to disconnect tubing while you unscrew a cap – it just drops over the bung.  The cap keeps debris out of the drum, and suppresses vapors even liquid ammonia. Alternatively, there are threaded styles that mount on 2″ NPS, 2″ Buttress, or 3/4″ NPT drum openings.

Models:

The drum alarms can be split into two types: those with a feed pipe, and those without feed pipe.  All high level drum alarms have an adjustable working depth from their maximum to as little as 2 inches.

Alarms without feed pipe have only one pipe and so they can fit in the ¾” NPT bung.  Can be adjusted from 2″ to 7″ working depth. Model DHK-PP or DHK-KF.

Models with a liquid feed pipe have two pipes and so they require the space of a 2″ bung.  There are different mounting options as follows:

  • DHAhas a slip-on cap that is quick and easy to transfer from drum to drum. Depth is adjustable with a thumbscrew from 2-5 inches. Liquid feed pipe is welded to the float pipe so it can’t be forgotten.
  • DHP has a threaded drum plug mount. 2″ NPS thread. Working depth is adjustable from 2-7 inches using a thumbscrew. Liquid feed pipe is removable to allow the drum plug to unscrewed without winding the liquid tubing.
  • DHB is the same as DHP but has a 2″ Buttress thread.(the coarse one on a drum with only 3 threads)
